Belagroprombank took part in the awards ceremony for the silver medal winners of the Olympic festival in Erzurum

On April 6, the awards ceremony for the young Olympians took place during the press conference dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace at the headquarters of NOC Belarus with participation of the representatives from Belagroprombank.

As part of the celebrations dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the awards ceremony took place to honor the national youth hockey team – the silver medal winners of the XIII European Youth Olympic Festival in the Turkish city of Erzurum. Traditionally, the event organized by NOC Belarus gathered honoured guests – the representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Belagroprombank, Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation, UNICEF, Belarus State University, as well as sportsmen and journalists.

Belagroprombank congratulated the Belarusian team on the high sport achievements and awarded prize money to the young hockey players who won silver medals at the festival, as well as to the team’s coaching staff.

On April 6, the awards ceremony for the young hockey players was held during the press conference dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace at the headquarters of NOC Belarus with participation of the representatives from Belagroprombank.

The silver medal winners of the XIII European Youth Olympic Festival in the Turkish city of Erzurum –the members of the national youth hockey team.

On behalf of Belagroprombank – the General Sponsor of NOC Belarus – the Deputy Chairman of JSC Belagroprombank Siarhei Chuhai congratulated young athletes and awarded the money certificates to the winners of the Winter Olympic Festival. Agrik – the mascot of the Belarus National Olympic Team – traditionally assisted at the awards ceremony.

In his speech, the Deputy Chairman of JSC Belagroprombank Siarhei Chuhai emphasized that Belagroprombank have not missed a single sports competition with participation of the Belarusian Olympians.

– Not long ago, at the headquarters of NOC Belarus we held the see-off ceremony for our young athletes to the Olympic festival in the Turkish city of Erzurum, – the Deputy Chairman of JSC Belagroprombank Siarhei Chuhai noted. – Today, with are especially proud and pleased to welcome our young hockey players and congratulate them on their high achievement – a silver medal.

Agrik who accompanied our athletes at various sports competitions became a lucky charm for the Belarus sports delegation numerous times. In the course of our cooperation with the National Olympic Committee, the mascot Agrik “brought” 60 medals to our athletes. These medals were won at the largest competitions, starting from the First European Games in Baku and finishing with the XIII European Youth Olympic Festival in Turkey.

We are pleased that the 60th “anniversary” medal was won by our national youth hockey team that took the 2nd place at the competitions in Erzurum, and we truly believe that Belagroprombank’s support will continue to contribute to the highest sports achievements by Belarusian athletes.

The member of the national youth hockey team Mikhail Kovalev thanked Belagroprombank for support.

Mikhail Kovalev, a member of the national youth hockey team shared his experience of the successful game in Erzurum:

– The tournament turned out to be difficult, and this victory was not a piece of cake for us. Nevertheless, all team players made every effort to win the silver medal. Needless to say, we were greatly supported by our dearest and nearest, as well as our friends, coaches and colleagues – the members of the national team. During the matches we also had much support from the figure skaters and the biathlonists.

There was serious competition for the medals at the competitions as the rivals were very strong. We were particularly impressed by the first-class powerful game demonstrated by the Russian youth national team that took gold. The tactics of the French hockey players turned out to be unexpectedly interesting. We learned many new and useful things from each game and we will strive only for top achievements.

All the guests of the event took part in the annual social campaign “White Card” that symbolizes adherence to peace initiatives and team spirit.

The coaching staff, the members of the national youth hockey team and Agrik became the participants of the “White Card” promotion campaign.
