Belagroprombank joined the international social initiative "White Card"

The press-conference dedicated to the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace took place in the headquarters of NOC Belarus.

The celebration ceremony gathered numerous guests of the National Olympic Committee, including the representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Belarusian Olympic Academy, UNICEF, educational institutions, athletes, journalists, children (participants of the contests and educational projects established by the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus).

The press conference took place in the headquarters of NOK Belarus in the Olympic Hall of Fame with the participation of the representatives from Belagroprombank

This year, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace is held within a framework of the social initiative “White card” that became a symbol of promotion of peace across the world.

White Cards have already been raised by HSH prince Albert II (Monaco), an Olympic bronze medalist and double Tour de France winner Chris Froome (United Kingdom, cycling), an Olympic champion Sergei Bubka (Ukraine, Track & Field), an Olympic bronze medalist and a tennis star Novak Djokovic (Serbia, tennis), a double Olympic champion Elena Isinbayeva (Russia, Track & Field). Athletes from Belarus also joined the initiative - the world and European sailing champion Tatsiana Drozdovskaya, and a winner of the European Games Alena Amialiusik.

During the press conference the awards ceremony for the winners of the essay and drawing contests dedicated to the XXXI Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 was held by the National Olympic Committee and the Belarusian Olympic Academy. The contests aimed to acquaint children and youth with the ideals of the Olympic movement, to promote the Olympic values, sport and healthy living and to embody the underlying principle of the Olympic Charter – the unity of sport, culture and education. The objectives of the contests are to create a favourable environment for personal development and promote a healthy lifestyle through sport and art in educational establishments.

One of the highlights of the event was the awards ceremony for preschool educational establishments by an interactive stand “The Olympic Corner” for the active participation in promoting the Olympic values among children. The head of Marketing and Public Relations of JSC Belagroprombank Tatsiana Sidorenya participated in the awards ceremony:

– Оn behalf of Belagroprombank and from me personally I would like to thank the National Olympic Committee for this opportunity to celebrate the International Day of Sport together with our partners, guests and athletes!

Our bank has been supporting the Olympic movement for almost three years. We are happy to support any initiatives organised by the National Olympic Committee and hope that the financial support from Belagroprombank contributes to successful beginnings and victories of our athletes.

It is not a mere coincidence that our bank participated in the award for preschool educational establishments by the interactive stand “The Olympic Corner” for the active participation in promoting the Olympic values among children. Supporting children and youth is a priority goal of the corporate social responsibility of Belagroprombank. It is wonderful that from a young age kids are involved in sports. The goal of our bank is to teach children how to live healthy and well.

In this regard, I would like to mention our new corporate social responsibility project The Dream Team which also aims to help children from orphanages. It encourages children to get involved in sport through probably the most popular sport – football. We want to introduce children to a healthy lifestyle through football. Thanks to this project, the worldwide popular trends volunteering and mentoring were introduced in Belarus. Today we do our best to promote this idea through the example of successful men, athletes in particular, who hold training sessions for kids and demonstrate the importance of setting and achieving goals.
