Agrik acted as the mascot of the national team at the European Youth Olympic festival in Gyor

The headquarters of the National Olympic Committee Belarus hosted the official farewell ceremony for the Belarusian sports delegation departing to the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor (Hungary). For the sixth time, Agrik has become the mascot of the Belarusian team.

The First Vice-President of NOC Belarus Andrey Astashevich, the Olympic Champion in canoeing in Rome (1960) Sergei Makarenko, the Head of the Sports Department of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism Igor Emelyanov, the Deputy Head of Marketing and Public Relations– Head of Public Relations Department of JSC Belagroprombank Yury Karpitsky, and numerous athletes and guests took part in the solemn ceremony.

In his farewell speech the First Vice-President of NOC mentioned the sponsorship support in the preparation for the competitions, and wished young athletes not only to demonstrate their abilities but also to surpass their personal records.

The Deputy Head of Marketing and Public Relations – Head of Public Relations Department Yury Karpitsky on behalf of JSC Belagroprombank wished young athletes self confidence and successful performances.

– In the course of two years, Agrik as a mascot of the Belarusian Olympic team “brought” 60 medals to our athletes. These medals were won at the five largest competitions, starting from the First European Games in Baku and finishing with the Winter Youth Olympic Festival in Erzurum, - Yury Karpitsky stressed. –We are confident that Agrik, as a symbol of the children’s savings program «Grow Happy!”, will help unveil infinite opportunities given by big sport. And remember, the world is your oyster!

– I have trained numerous champions, but every time it is an emotional experience, like the first time, it is always a big responsibility, – the captain of the canoeing team Natallia Pyreyeva shared her impressions before the games. – The preparations for the competitions are very intense and complicated. On average, the children train 6 hours a day. Of course, we aim for victories and medals, and in the training process we look up to the leaders. Everyone is motivated as they want to win the title and make it into the history.
