Dear cardholders of JSC Belagroprombank!

Please inform yourself about the specifics of currency exchange transactions on current accounts, access to which is provided when using cards.

If the currency of the transaction does not match the currency of the account, as well as in some cases provided for by payment systems, a currency exchange transaction is carried out. When conducting a currency exchange transaction, the rates of both the issuing bank (for transactions using cards of JSC Belagroprombank, separate exchange rates are set, different from the rates for cash transactions), and the corresponding MasterCard Worldwide payment system (for MasterCard cards and Maestro) or Visa International (for VISA and VISA Electron cards) are used.

Information on exchange rates for transactions with cards established by JSC Belagroprombank is placed on the main page of the website.

Information about exchange rates established by international payment systems is posted on the websites:

MasterCard Worldwide

(in the "Base Currency" column, you must sel ect US dollars, regardless of the currency of the account to which the card was issued)

VISA

(in the column "My Card Is In" you must select US dollars, regardless of the currency of the account to which the card was issued)

Cardholders of other banks can obtain information about exchange rates fr om issuing banks (banks that issued cards into circulation).

Please note!

Any operation using a card (cash withdrawal, purchase payment, account replenishment) usually takes place in two systems. Initially - in the system for processing authorization requests, in which the available amount on the card changes in real time (increases or decreases by the amount of the operation), and then - in the clearing system, in which settlement information is generated. Only as the settlement information is processed by the bank, the transaction amount is reflected in the client's account.

Since exchange rates are set by international payment systems on a daily basis and are updated taking into account the situation on the foreign exchange market, the amount of the transaction in the account currency at the stage of authorization and at the stage of reflecting the operation on the account may differ (up or down).

Sometimes, when paying at a trade and service organization (OTS), the cashier offers to choose the currency of payment, including the currency of the account to which your card was issued. In the course of such transactions, in addition to the rates of the issuing bank and the international payment system, OTC rates are also used, which actually increases the cost of the purchase. For example, if you pay in Poland with a card in US dollars and have chosen US dollars as the payment currency, then the purchase amount in zlotys will be converted into US dollars at the OTC rate, which is less favorable than the MPS rate. To avoid unnecessary expenses, we recommend that you always select the currency of the country in which you are located when paying at OTS.

Refunds for transactions using the card are carried out at the selling rate at the time of the transaction, specified by the OTS.
