Commemorative coins of the National Banks of the Republic

Commemorative coins are popular with foreigners and the local population who purchase them for their collections. Such coins can also be used as a souvenir and are a wonderful gift for any occasion.

Commemorative coins are legal tender of the Republic of Belarus, undergo quality control and, when put into circulation by the National Bank, are of proper quality. It is allowed to sell commemorative coins which may have technologically-driven permissible deviations (barely noticeable scratches visible to the naked eye, slight bevels, gouges and burrs on the edge and milled edge, variation in the intensity of the gloss of the matte surface on commemorative coins), the presence of which is not a basis for classifying them as coins inadequate quality.
Commemorative banknotes and commemorative coins are sold at selling prices that differ from the face value, and may be collectibles, as well as accepted by banks at the face value as legal tender of the Republic of Belarus, unless otherwise established by legislation.
Commemorative coins, when stored before and after being sold, are subject to a natural oxidation process, which may cause slight stains on the surface of commemorative coins. The presence of stains does not affect the consumer characteristics of a coin and the content of the precious metal in a coin, and is not an obstacle to the sale of commemorative coins.
It is advisable to store commemorative coins in a capsule, blister package or a box in order to avoid additional contact with the external environment and damage to the surface of commemorative coins. It is not recommended to open the capsule or a blister package which contains the commemorative coin.
Commemorative coins, being legal tender in the Republic of Belarus, that are intended for personal use are exported from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union in accordance with the Treaty on the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union signed in Moscow on 11.04.2017.
Commemorative coins of non-precious metals, being legal tender in the Republic of Belarus, that are worth no more than 10000 US dollars at the exchange rate effective on the day of submission of documents, can be exported from the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union without mandatory declaration.
